With broadband commonplace and video editing getting more and more accessible several sites have sprung up supporting the uploading of personal films to be viewed from anywhere in the world. Here are some places to send or view videos online.

YouTube has become one of the most visited sites on the Net.

I've uploaded several videos here.

Make Poverty History Bike Ride

During the Make Poverty History summer of 2005 a bike ride from London to Edinburgh supported the programme. The last stop before arriving in Edinburgh was in Peebles.

This video shows that event.

Steeple View of Peebles, Scotland

While filming the Make Poverty History footage I met a friend who allowed me to get a special view of the events.

This was the second time I've scaled to the top of a church steeple but the first time with a camcorder.

All My YouTube Videos

I've posted several videos on YouTube including footage of my ill daughter, an edited Mac commercial and a message to my granddaughter.

The most popular video on my area of YouTube is not by me but by one of my students from Hawick High School. Well done, Shaun!

Google Video and YouTube are linked in many ways since Google purchased YouTube. One benefit to Google Video is that you can download the videos to your computer, iPod or PSP.

G8 Demonstration in Scotland '05

The meeting of the G8 leaders in Scotland was the driving force behind all the activities surrounding the Make Poverty History campaign. The Live Eight concerts were also held during this time.

I attended the demonstration at Glen Eagles, taking the bus from Edinburgh with other participants. I was on one of the first buses that left that day. Other buses were turned around or delayed.

This is a short documentary I made about the event,

LiveVideo, like YouTube, allows users to post videos on the site. I've posted one video.

Steeple View of Peebles, Part 1

The first time I climbed to the top of a church steeple was an awesome experience. I had been living next to a church that was having its steeple repaired by steeplejacks. For months I watched them go up and down the ladders they attached to the building. While in my yard I mentioned to Fiona that I'd always wanted to go to the top. A head popped over my wall. The workman asked if I really meant what I had said. "I sure did" I informed him. "Then get some good shoes on and meet me at the base" he replied.

A few minutes later I was at the top photographing both steeplejacks and the spectacular view from the top.

I turned the pictures into a musical collage and showed it during my show, Peebles@Peebles the was performed at the Eastgate Theatre on my 60th birthday.

The music used to accompany the film was performed by Katherine McCurrach during her 100th birthday celebration.

My Flickr Pix

Aside from posting moving images there are many sites that let users post digital photographs.

One such site it flickr. I've only a few pictures on this site but may put more up in the future.

This is an interesting site for finding pictures of a wide variety of places, people and things. The pictures can even be linked to locations to see where the photos originated.
